I cannot praise A1 enough. The whole team are very friendly and welcoming. My instructor was Phil and all credit goes to him for transforming me from useless to test standard in 8 sessions. I cannot speak too highly of him, he gives the confidence and encouragement required, he is professional and puts you completely at ease, number one instructor for me.. with a cracking sense of humour!! Alison Helm June 20,2010 Liverpool UK Should have done this last week but better late than never. I passed my test over 30 years ago but hadn't ridden a bike on a regular basis for over 20 years. I decided to give up my car but didn't want to jump on a bike without doing a refresher course. I searched the web and found A1. The course was only for three hours but in that time I learned a lot and got a lot of confidence back. I can highly recommend these guys, they put you at ease and have a laugh at the same time. Had a really nice day. Everything they go through. It's slightly boring but cbt's are anyways. Had one lesson after that with joe who is a lovely man and then i was ready for the 500. Sadly I couldn't carry on lessons with A1 due to money and had less than 3 weeks to pass. But I managed to pass In 8 days ;) so it's all good. But yes IDE recomend A1 to anyone. Including any mothers who. Patience personified. Where other schools seem to hone in on my negatives and used them as points of attack, Alan focused on my negatives to make them positives. I am sure if I'd of stayed with the other riding school which has a very nice river view I would not have got through my module 1 & 2 as fast and as stress free as I did. If you are prepared to listen and learn you will not, in my opinion find a better school. Don't be fooled by these schools which say "I'll get you through for a fixed amount" because you exceed that amount they will be looking at ways to get the extra from you. All I can say is a big thanks to Al and the crew for making my venture into biking a great one. Top People! Al, I'll be seeing you soon for the enhanced training. My instructor, Joe is a top bloke and a very good teacher. I have gone from a complete novice (not even driven a car) to a motorbike rider and I am chuffed to bits. Joe was patient and very helpful with my training and he could teach anybody how to ride a bike. The CBT is the start of my motorbike career and I intend to get the rest of my tuition and my full motorbike license with the guys at A1. I did my CBT at another establishment in merseyside and bought my own bike and thought i could ride! it wasnt untill i met up with the proffessional setup that alan and his team had at A1 rider training that i realised that how much of a joke my training had previously been at the other place. with Alans support i was trained properly from the basics up and was alot safer on the road as a result while riding my 125cc. Alan gave me the confidence and the skills and abilities to complete my full bike test which i passed today. Alan and the lads are a great bunch who are always very helpful and supportive. with other training centres its all about the money but i felt that safety, confidence and skill aqusition was the priority with the training which was good to see and gain from.
